Canon 52mm Drop-in Screw Filter Holder System (W11) - Perfect for DSLR & Mirrorless Camera Lens Protection & Creative Photography

Nervous about buying this but it fit my Canon 600mm IS II USM lens just fine. I put a "Haida 52mm Clear-Night Filter NanoPro MC Light Pollution Reduction" filter and everything inserted nicely into the 600 mm lens. Nice way to install filter on the 600mm lens series because the 52mm aperture is much more convenient than trying to find filters that fit the aperture of the 600mm lens.The 52 Drop-in Filter holder 52WII works perfect. I got a slimline filter that's only 5mm wide. So it fits in the groove perfectly. Much wider filters would not fit in the slot so you have to be careful. This filter fits most of the long Canon lenses. It's perfect for the circular polarizing filter which is what I used must. I don't use a UV or Skylight filter. I got the It seems from gray market. and I have to assimbly filter with a little effort to install into the holder with a washer.Product was exactly as described. Fit in my lens as described. Shipping took a bit longer than it should’ve but we’ll packaged. Would buy again.This is an almost essential component to replace the standard item installed in many lenses, which have a fixed optical glass protector with Gelatin holder, these sheet filters are available, but require careful cutting and handling.This F52 WII drop-in screw filter holder is supplied with a screw-in "protect" filter, which is very clear optical glass and not a UV filter as stated in an earlier review (lens design, coatings & digital camera sensor filters deal with UV), it is part of the lens optical design and prevents dirt from finding it's way deeper inside the lens when other filters are not installed. The advantage of replacing an internal lens component with a filter means that no additional ghosting or flaring or vignetting will be introduced.I found that pulling out the holder and swapping filters outdoors was awkward and risks inviting water or dirt into the lens, I suggest purchasing additional drop-ins for commonly used filters, leaving them assembled and ready for quick swaps.The choice of filters is limited by the lens internal clearance and some 52mm filters are too wide to fit, I used B+W XS-Pro 810 series which are a good fit. perhaps the "protect" screw-in could be measured before purchasing a new filter.WII or not?
