And my oh my, this item seemed to work from the second it was plugged in; I could feel fresher air immediately. Well worth its cost.I bought this for a studio that is ~400 square feet. I use to have an air purifier that was medical grade and kept the room smelling fresh with very little dust. This one has taken care of the dust but not the smells. It says it has a charcoal filter but it is no where near what my old one had. This one is bigger an louder. The advantage this one has over most is that it blows the air straight up or you can aim it wherever you want with a book. The value of this product is questionable especially after having my old HMJR purifier which is twice the coat of this one but did twice as good? I don’t know, I think I would prefer the room to have “no smell” and fresh clean air, that’s why I purchased one in the first place. Maybe there is an additional filter I could add to this one and it would be great. So we've got a fair amount of allergens in the house. I placed this in the bedroom (Approx 15' x 26').The unit setup and ran easily right out of the box. After a week I checked the filter. It was pretty clean. I checked again each week for about 3 weeks. By the third week there was some small amount of debris to clean out. I was surprised it was so little since I have three dogs and a lot of grass particles tracked into the house (the dogs are non-shedding dogs so I wasn't expecting to find much dog hair.)I like Bissell products, especially their pet waste carpet cleaning products. I don't want to say this item doesn't work. I will say that after three weeks I didn't notice much difference in the quality of the air in my bedroom. I unplugged the unit as I am re-flooring that room. With the item out of the room I haven't noticed any change in air quality, with the exception of two days where I woke up in the middle of the night with a runny nose from allergies.Bottom line: it's well made. Little noise, and what little there is works as white noise for falling asleep. It's easy to access the filter. The filter seems well made, not a cheap paper cone here. I just don't actually have much of a way to determine how much it's actually filtering or not.We were thinking it was bigger and cover more roomTechnology can be overwhelming to many people. There's just so much of it that it seems like it can take over our homes and lives pretty quickly. While that may be true with screens, sensors, lights, and phones, technology can also add many great benefits. One of those benefits is air purifiers! Sure, they've been around for a long time, but we never had one growing up in the 90s. Now you see them in a lot of offices as well as homes. And that's a great thing. We can all use more clean, inside fresh air.Last summer, our state was ravaged by wildfires. Our communities pulled together, and we persevered. But most of our homes were left with awful air quality. Air purifiers like these were like Pandemic toilet paper, sold out everywhere. We could grab another one from Amazon before the rush came in, but now we have added a few extras. We have six now, and I'm so glad we do. We don't run all of them 24/7, and the biggest one is set to Auto and is in the middle of the house. This Bissell unit we have in our master bedroom. It also runs on Auto and does a great job running when it needs to, even though sometimes it will run throughout the night and be loud. It has three levels, low, medium, and high. When the LED light shows green, it's good to go, yellow shows some purifying is needed, and red means it needs full power. Unfourtanlty, the medium pushes the unit pretty high, and it is loud. It can be jarring at 3:00 AM, but we're used to it now. This particular purifier is our latest addition. It's pleasing to the eye while not occupying too much space. We have it tucked between our smaller and larger dresser (see picture). It's big enough to handle a large room but small enough to be out of sight, out of mind. This particular air purifier does not have a WIFI-enabled app or anything, but honestly, with the auto feature, you don't need one. If it detects the air getting bad, it'll automatically start running until the air is better again. You don't need an app for that!
